hello all.

I am going through M&M 6 and having a great time of it

BUT I have just worked long and hard to rescue the damsel in distress, Melody Silver, to get my crusader promotion from the regent Humphrey of Castle Ironfist

I rescued the girl from the rogue silver fortress in mist, went back to Ironfist to claim my reward and nothing happened.
Has anyone else noticed this?

I may have found young Prince Nicolai in the circus after rescuing her but before returning Ms SIlver to the quest giver. This may have empted the damsel from my follower list ( not the visible ones but any rescued)

But if my aging memory (I am over 60) is correct in this can it be corrected? i have started again but hope the situatin does not reoccur if the cause is not as I thought.

Hence my asking you all

advice would be appreciated

Hmm. That is interesting maybe there is only one spot for a guest NPC and when you got Nicolai it purged Melody. I am usually pretty single minded about returning those types of NPCs.

The only suggestion might be to visit the Oracle and take the "I lost it option" . I know from experience if you discard a quest item that you previously found it will return it to your inventory.

Whether or not it works with NPCs is unknown.

Would be curious to see what you find out and hope you report about it if it did.
My experience, IIRC, is that quest NPCs like Melody Silver can be brought along in addition to the 2 hirelings you get.
Beside the two hireling portrait boxes is a little scroll right arrow to view the overflow, when you have one (because of tag-alongs).

well well well!!!!!

I begin to learn that my biggest pitfall as a gamer is that i rush and do not observe carefully. I could not hand in the quest as Io had never picked up th lady in the dungeron, and this because I had failed to noitce that such people when picked up do appear visible on the follower list.

i had assumed they did not for i never looked

and when overtired from playing too hard for too long, i assumed that when i met the guy telling me about secret tunnels that he was meoldy silver.

lack ofslep can do that. i had completely forgotten the puzzle with the retracting steps.

so i did this with my new party and also with the old party. i mustslow down and not rush, and ten i will ntce things

so you guys hepled me but not in the way i expected.

thanks :)
By the way, did you get the literary allusion? I've mentioned it once before in this forum.

Silver Cove is an excellent harbor with a fertile hinterland in, one NPC mentions, a once out-of-the-way location. I take it the harbor was named for the man who, if not the actual discoverer, was the first to make it his base of operations, and the town grew up from that. Noble Sir John's long-ago namesake ancestor, a notorious pirat-, er, pardon me, a famous seafarer, "Long" John Silver.

Nothing to add to Melody, but I am also an older gamer and will turn 59 over the summer. No longer a spring chicken for sure. I played a bit of MM6 (several characters through the beginning maps) then moved to MM7.
