Hi all

Installed Might & Magic 8 for the first time in ages and running it on Windows 10, there's the black bars on either side of the screen and wondering how to go about removing them and make the resolution/aspect ratio fit better.

I tried googling this issue and others had the same issue, unfortunately their fixes didn't work for me, I tried going into nVidia Control Panel -> Adjust Desktop Size and Position and tried changing settings in there with no success (unless I missed something)

I've attached the *current* settings on my nvidia control panel if someone can advise. Also the current screenshot of how the black bars look in game.

Does anyone have any ideas to help fix?

Thanks!

Black bars on the side do make the aspect ratio correct. This is an old game that was made for 4:3 monitors, so in order to display the aspect ratio correctly on widescreen monitors you have to have the black bars on sides. Without them, the game will look stretched.

If you do want to remove them anyway, then in NVidia control panel choose "Full Screen" instead of "Aspect ratio" (Also, depending on whether your monitor can handle scaling, "perform scaling on" might be better set to GPU, but try both options).
