Is there a possibility to play MM4 first then MM5 and join then after that? I don't want to play MM6 from the beginning, or doesn't that matter? What are the differences?

Thanks :)

Of course. The pyramids, through which you travel between sides (clouds & darkside), are optional. So you can finish clouds, then go to darkside and after finishing the story line finish the joining. Actually I recommend that you do that, because if you play them both simultaneously you'll get far too powerful too early for the clouds part.
Thank you! Ok I will ignore the pyramids in the beginning.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I've heard conflicting things about whether one should play the entirety of Clouds first or if one should dabble in both. When I played long ago I did them in order but that's because I didn't have a copy of Darkside until I finished Clouds. I remember the first town in Darkside was way too easy after finishing Clouds though. Will doing some Darkside quests early, even if it's just the first town, really spoil the Clouds adventure?
XP & gold rewards are much greater for darkside quests. See for yourself, play through all Vertigo quests, and then go to the darkside starting city (forgot its name) and do them. Also on darkside many kill trainers are available right on the beginning, when on clouds you have to look for them.

Edit: Yeah, if you do just the starting town it won't spoil you that much. You'll have much easier time going through red dwarf mines (which are a pain in the ass). But the farther you go with darkside, the less challenge you'll face on clouds.

I finished all of Clouds first, and I'm playing Darkside now.

The first town is way too easy. Fights are one thing. The other is you have all spells and skills which you can easily exploit (e.g. town portal takes you to any town; teleport takes you to areas normally inaccessible). I'm making a point of not exploiting those.

That said, it's just the beginning of Darksde that is going to be too easy. Pretty soon it will even out. After all, you have around 14M XP after finishing clouds and although at the beginning it translates to 20 levels, at later level, the 14M difference between a cloud party and a party that started DSide is less noticeable (64M XP party is not that stronger than 50M).

If you want, you can play DSide with a new party, though I just get attached to the one I finished Clouds with..;.
I completed Clouds with a level 20 party, including many of the optional areas, then traveled for the first time to Darkside. The first town was extremely easy, as was the Temple of Bark, but I already started encountering challenging monsters on my way to Sandcaster, like Armadillos. Even those snake creatures weren't exactly pushovers. I took a peek at the desert region and got summarily defeated by the monsters there. Then I climbed the Skyroads, but couldn't defeat a single Sky Golem. So there definitely is challenge on Darkside even if you exhaust all of Clouds.

This is pretty much my exact memory from when I played the same way. What I'm wondering is, if I pop over to Darkside and to the first town and maybe the Temple of Bark while I'm still working on Clouds, will the rest of Clouds get way too easy?

It sounds like it won't be too bad... but I kind of liked the challenge of the Red Dwarf mines the first time. Maybe I'll still do those before I head over... I could do the early Darkside stuff when I'm halfway through Clouds or something. Anyway I'm not going to get to my replay for a while so I have time to think about it.

In that case I propose you this. Start with clouds. By the time you can clear Rivercity you should be fine to do some starting stuff on dakside. Just don't overdo it, or you'll be wondering why the dragons on the cloud side (not counting the endgame ones) are dying with just few hits. If you like early clouds challenge do not spoil yourself with all the cool skills & spells you can learn on the darkside at the very beginning.

In Clouds, you get tens of thousands of experience points. On Darkside, you get millions. An easy, non-combat quest in the first Darkside town may catapult you a few levels ahead, breaking any challenge you had in Clouds. Since the starting town on Darkside is very easy with little combat, many players make this mistake and ruin Clouds for themselves. My advice is, don't step into any of the pyramids until you complete all of Clouds. But of course, the beauty of WoX is that you can play the quests in any order, as you like.

Ah, yes. This was actually the most challenging area for me in Clouds. Some strong enemies like the Tiger Moles, plenty of traps and critters that poison you, and poison is difficult to cure if you want to avoid backtracking all the time to do the antidote quest or visit the temple. And the boss was really tough to beat with his area effect sleep spell. Took me a lot of reloads to bring him down. After that it was smooth sailing through all other dungeons, barring the final stretch of Golem Dungeon and Dragon Cave. The Cave of Illusions? Didn't even lose any health. The Sphinx? Those monsters in there couldn't even touch me. But the Red Dwarf Mines, with the difficult choice of whether to open the crate and try for some XP while risking death for my party members, that was golden.
