i double click on the dosbox m&ms symbols on my desktop n the dosbox logo shows up then dissapears to nothing. iv tried the compatability settings n running as admin but stil nothing. any ideas?

change the graphics mode (there is a tool in the startmenu entry for M&M)

Yeah this should do it. There should be several options; feel free to try them all but if memory serves the one that is usually problematic is called "Surface". if that's selected, try a different one. Or maybe try setting it to "Surface" if it's set to something else.
