I just got MM9 from GOG.com and I'm running windows 8. The game installed fine. Now when I open any menu the game freezes for about 2-4 mins before the menu opens. I've tried to run lithtech.exe and various compatibility setting but problem persists. I also changed the "screendepth" from "16" to "32" and no fix. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Im having a similar problem, When i press start game it freezes for a while and then goes to character creation but i cant select any of the other three characters in my group. and if i push start to start with default the music changes but it stuck on that screen, also it wont go full screen for me either

On my machine, it takes 4-8 minutes for any part of the game to load. Whether it's character select or the loading screen. When I try to actually load into the game (beyond the menus) the program stops responding permanently. Please give advice, I'm considering requesting a refund because of this. The game is completely non-functional.

Here is a little help.

Add +windowed 1 to shortcut • Link
1. Go to the shortcut's properties.
2. Add +windowed 1 to the target.

now the game must work ....but..... only in windowsmode.
