Alright, so I’ve been playing the game in Windows 95 compatibility mode without a hitch except for a few hiccups in the beginning. So I get towards the end of the game and as soon as I walk in the door of Escaton's Palace the game crashes! I’ve tried all the compatibility modes and changing to software mode all to no avail. Unless I can fix this I can’t finish the game! I’m running windows 7 x64 and my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 61505E. I ran this game once before on XP and had zero problems. Anyone have any ideas?

I rather doubt that it will work but... try restarting the computer and run the game in windows XP compatibility mode (or any else, experiment a bit). I know, that sound silly but worked for me with GOG.com version of MM6 - there was a place when game crashed all the time but after the restart I was able to pass it. The funny thing was that after playing the game for a while and coming back to this place the game crashed again. But after the restart - without a problem. Funny, isn't it? I hope (although I rather doubt) it will work for you as well

Well I tried that, no dice. I wish it was that simple! Thanks anyway though. Funny enough, in 95 and 98 comp modes it crashes as soon as I get in the hallway, but all other comp modes I can’t even get in the door! Vista and 7 the game won’t even start.

Before you go through the door, go into the settings and turn the music off. When you go through the door you can turn the music back on. Try it.

hi, i wonder where can i turn off the music in this game- because when i enter the "control" setting i can only low or increase music, sound or effects level. Any help?

Did you try lowering it all the way down?

Had the same problem, and this helped. Thanks. Wonder what the reason is?

And yes, all you have to do is move the slider all the way down in Controls.

I was having the same issue on a Win10 machine, turning down the music worked for me too. Thank you very much!
