I've looked around on here on the forums a bit and found a couple fixes for the sounds not working. I have installed the grayface patch and most fixes mention a playMp3= in the mm6.ini after having installed the patch and playing it but I dont have a line for that. I also checked the mm6lang.ini and same no mps3play= line. I tried creating the 'music' folder on the off chance that just worked without the line being edited but nothing has worked

If you are talking about just the music, yes, a Music folder in side the game folder is needed, and the actual ripped audio files from the CD in mp3 format within that folder. tracks 2 - 16 (named 2.mp3, thru 16.mp3). You can find the soundtrack (in mp3) under extras for MM6 in GoG Galaxy (and probably somewhere on the site version as well). Just make sure they are named correctly.

The ini file, you can rename to MM6.ini.old. And restart MM6 and it should recreate it with all the settings that can be set.
Make sure game was installed on a separate drive or folder than C:\Program Files\*.

So I tried all this and at first nothing was working. What did end up fixing my issue was that with one of the patches i guess the default music pack no longer worked or werent being included. so under the GOG galaxy i downloaded the soundtracks from the extras menu and that fixed everything. Thank you for your help though.
