Hey there so I think I found a bug with the game. I'm at misty isles in Feb and I click on the shrine and it does nothing.
I may have however clicked on the shrine before in the wrong month could this have tagged the shrine for the year for me, because as I said it does nothing to click on the shrine now.

Assuming you have the correct shrine for the month, I believe you have to talk to the Seer about a taking a pilgrimage before the shrine becomes active.

Edit for clarity: Each month, talk to the Seer first, then go visit the shrine for that month to get the stat boost.

As Bookwyrm wrote. Sometimes you can click on shrine and get bonus without visiting Seer, but most of the time you have to visit him first.
