Hi All;
I just finished playing MM3 and was eager to fire up MM4/5 but after doing so I must say that it looks horrible in comparison with 3. For examples even looking at the character stats and inventory which is basically unchanged from MM3 the colours look horribly washed out and the mouse disappears on the top half of the screen even though it still works if you guess where you're clicking.
Is it just me being picky or does MM4 look slightly worse than MM3? I've attached a screen capture of the mouse disappearing (it only does this when the box is flashing around a stat, if I select a stat which stops the box from flashing then the pointer remains solid.

Try increasing your Dosbox cycles (ctrl-F12). I've had cursor problems in this game before, and that fixed it.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I've tried adjusted the cycles both up and down (from Max to ~50%) but it didn't impact this problem in the slightest. It seems to be a graphics glitch related to the glowing box which highlights your stats....

I didn't have any mouse problems of any sort with MM4/5. I found that as I went from each game to the next it took a bit of time to adjust to the different interfaces and graphics, even if the changes weren't that big. In truth, they're all ugly. :-)
I'd suggest playing in a window as opposed to fullscreen if you haven't yet. Hopefully that will help with the mouse problems. Also, it keeps everything looking slightly sharper, and it's handy for viewing maps and whatnot at the same time. Best way to to do that is edit the dosbox settings INI in the game folder. There is a setting in there where you just swap a flag. Something like Fullscreen = 0, instead of Fullscreen = 1.

Hi, thanks for the advice, I've played it both full-screen and windowed, but in both I have the mouse issue. I find that the Alt + Enter command is the best for switching between full and windowed modes. I guess you're correct that they're both kinda ugly, but MM4 appears much more washed out on my computer vs MM3.
