Hello,

In order to get some more QoL features (including a great automapping), I've been using the "Where Are We" software located here for Might&Magic 2 :

If you happen to be a user of the same software, I've been experiencing quite a bit more trouble in running it successfully with Might & Magic 3:

- It seems it cannot remember the path to the game, so I have to run the wizard each time (when I launche the game through the software, an error window pops up saying "the memory scanner could not locate the correct addresses inside the game process..." then it goes on telling me to check again the shortcuts to the game, but everything seems fine 'til I shut down the program;

- Also, in "play" mode, the arrow doesn't move in real time as I move my party in the game. It updates the map only when I enter a shop/tavern ecc. (so it's basically useless).

All of the above never happened to me with MM2. I suspect it might be a problem with the software going "out of sync" with the game because of the initial game launcher, but I really don't know how to fix those issues (and yes, I tried to run both the software and the game in admin mode and normal mode).

Thanks in advance for any tip you might give :)

I completed MM3 recently while using WAW. I didn’t encounter this issue. So,while I don’t have any tips, at least you now know it’s possible to get it working. I just run the game from the GOG launcher and then launch WAW.

Thank you for your answer, and....uh, well, out curiosity, I tried installing MM2 again, loaded the game, loaded WAW, started with the default party and indeed the WAW automap worked as intended, with the arrow following my party as I wandered around. Note that I haven't modified the setup wizard of WAW, linking the program to the game etc.

Then, I shut down MM2 and WAW, started MM3 and WAW again: WAW detected that I wasn't using MM2 anymore, switched to the initial MM3 map (Fountain Head)....And 'lo and behold, now it works! I already saved a couple times shut down and restart both the game and WAW and the problem is gone.

Still, I have no idea what exactly I did differently beside experimenting with MM2 again. Duh.

Anyway, for future reference, just in case someone else read this topic and needs help with the software, I finally found a guide for WAV on Youtube:
