Some of the full speech characters are missing their sound files. I know this isn't an issue from the original game, because I own the original CD version, the Millenium Edition. One example is in the Rivercity Temple, the girl who says, "Pray, pay, and be healed today," in a dreamy hippy voice. in GOG's version, she is silent. There are a few more, but that was the most recent example in my playthrough. Anyone else notice character missing their soundbytes? Full speech in this game really WAS full speech, originally.

I suppose you are referring to World of Xeen.
The GOG installer should have installed both the floppy and the CD version of the game: please, double check you launch the game using the correct shortcut.

Please read the entire post. It's not EVERY sound file that's missing. It's random minor character ones, 99% of which play their sound files correctly. Around 1% stay silent. And I do know the difference between the versions, thank you.

Please, browse to the "Music" folder in the game's installation directory. Play the audio file "xeen02.ogg".

This bug also exists in the "Millennium Edition"

Edit: This might be a bug with the CD Images. To verify I would need to find my WoX CDs .... and a computer with a CD drive. Anyway, a fix will be posted in a few minutes.

The issue is the "start frame" in the event file for this map. The current value (0x18) causes the sound to not play for some reason. Updating it to 0x1E corrects the issue.

Resolution:
-Download an updated MAZE0030.EVT file from http://games.playazlounge.net/misc/MAZE0030.EVT
-Place MAZE0030.EVT into the "WORLD" directory (see attached image as an example -- in my case it is "E:\GOG Games\Might and Magic 4-5\WORLD\")
-Startup Xeen and have fun

NOTE: Do not use this file when on Darkside (rename it to something else like MAZE0030.EVT.BAK) or it will mess up the Castleview Sewer map!!
