I can hear the music and when I click randomly it seems to pick something.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can fix it ive tried reinstalling ive tried getting the patches what else can I do ive even gone through compatibility mode

im having the same problem as well.
i was able to start the game up and actually play it yesterday but when i started it up today i get this white screen, and even if i am able to push random buttons to make a new game the white screen persists through the entire game.

Same, just started happening a week ago, same for everyone else? Also HoMM3 GOG version stopped running, not a white screen but a black screen and trailing mouse cursor and no cinematics other than the NWC animated logo, HELPPPPPPPP!!

I'd suggest contacting support, describing the symptoms you (specifically) are seeing, and possibly also linking to this thread.

I've got a workaround for this issue: Run the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2. Full disclosure, I've also installed GrayFace's MM6 Patch.
