eolsunder: i have no problem installing other might and magic games, but my might and magic book 1 game gets a server error when trying to install. I'm guessing something is messed up with the game liink to install. Installed might and magic 2, might and magic 3, etc but 1 just reads server error.
Are you installing from GOG Galaxy? If so, you can try downloading the backup installer and using that instead. In GOG Galaxy, instead of clicking "Install", click on "Extras" just to the left of the install button. This will take you to a list of the extras files, one of which is the "offline backup installer". Download that and run it, and it will install the game. It will still link up with Galaxy so you can launch the game from Galaxy and use other Galaxy features as normal when playing.
It's also possible to download the backup installer directly from the GOG webpage, without using GOG Galaxy. It's under "Extras" there too I think.
