I can't walk in a straight line. I walk at a 30 degree left of forward angle always. I'm just hitting "up arrow" to go.

i get that sometimes too, i get it fixed by pressing the walk button or restarting the game.

It's an illusion created by the weird geometry in the game world. If you turn Always Run on, you won't notice it as much.
