Is there a keyboard command? I just use CTL-Alt-Del for now but I'm sure there is a way in the game.

Actually, there isn't, as far as I can tell. The game is so old that one would actually power off their computer when done playing. The way I quit is to simply quit DOSBox. You can probably do this by pressing ALT+F4, or you can switch to windowed mode by pressing ALT+ENTER and then click the X in the top right corner of the window.

I will try it later. I could not go back to my characters so I gave up and started M&M 2.

Uh oh. What happened? You should be able to find your characters... when you start the game you have to pick which town they were in the last time you saved (using the number keys) and then select them from the roster. Were your characters gone from the roster? Did you save them at the inn before you quit the game?

Yes I saved them at the inn. Just the keys were not working on it for some reason. Maybe redownload some day? Already deep into 2.
