I unfortunately bough MMVII and I can't find a way to switch to turn based combat mode. I press enter and nothing is happening, clock is ticking and my characters are taking damage.

Generally, I couldn't figured out how to fight in this game, other than to desperately trying to face the enemies and continuously pressing A. I also read the manual but seriously, it's just beyond me. Am I controlling one character at a time? Are the others idle, standing and dying?

I don't know what is wrong with your turn based mode. Usually when you press Enter, you are in turn based and you can see a small icon of hand in the bottom right corner. Do you see this?

In Might and Magic series (from 6 to 9) you are controlling 4 heroes with different statistics and skills. Hero with Master armour skill (no recovery time for example) and lots of speed will be faster and hit often than others. If you act as a one hero, you are automatically switched to next one.

This game is just about running through the game, fight as much as you can, run away, rest, back and fight more. In turn based mode and real time when you need it. I had a lot of troubles with this style when I install this game first time. But I gave MM a chance and now just love it :)

I hope my answer will help, or at least is not stupid :)

Good day!
Thanks, it helped. There's something wrong with my game then, still nothing happens when I press enter (no hand icon in the bottom corner). I'm pretty confident that I know where enter is so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Can you rebind the keys for various actions in this game? This may help.
Have you tried the fan-made patch linked in the sticky thread in this forum? I believe it adds the ability to rebind the controls, so you can set the turn-based toggle key to something other than enter and see if it helps. It might even fix the problem outright, without needing to rebind. Worth a shot.
I had once the same problem - can't remember, if it was a MM game or another one.

However, accidental I found out, that the Enter Key worked, after I enabled or disabled the Num-Lock (don't know why, but it worked that way)
Rebinded combat to another key and now it works. Thanks everyone, it's nice to have that many people help you when you have a problem. :)
