I know what your all thinking, but no I'm not asking if the games need a demanding computer.
What I want to ask is, do you need the numeric keypad to play the M&M games, since I don't have that on my laptop.

All the MM games will work just fine with the normal numbers and arrow keys, and since they are turn based, they layout difference should not be an issue.

No problem.
MM1 to 5 are purely turn-based. MM6; I'll also note that it by default runs in real time, however you can switch to turn based at any-time. And for combat, this is almost required until you've levelled the characters to such heights that weaker enemies pose zero challenge (just hold down attack and walk).
