I'm a big fan of the Might & Magic series and so I picked up M&M 8 as I saw it was on here. Unfortunately I'm having issues with it. While I see people with Windows 7 have an issue installing the game, thats not my issue in particularly. For me, after a few moments in the game (usually 15-30) I start getting artifacting in the game consisting of evenly spaced vertical lines. From there it doesn't matter if I try shutting down the game or not, within a minute I have a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and reboot.

I'm on a Windows 7 32bit system, all updated drivers. The game is forced on Win95 compatibility, I tried setting other compatibility settings, to no avail. Anyone have any clue what might be causing the issue?

Edit: Oh and I have M&M 1-6 from GoG with no issue. Considering it uses the same engine as 6 I don't see why it has the problem with 6 does not.

Try running the game with just Software instead of 3D acceleration. This can be configured thru the config utility that shows up before the game launches.
Interestingly that didn't run when I first ran the game. It had auto-selected software, setting it to hardware fixed it. But now I have another issue (though perhaps it's not new I just hadn't gotten far enough to find it). When I try to save, it crashes the game. :/

Thanks for the suggestion Dave0, at least I can play now lol.
