Hi,

I am new here, just signed up. I was looking for a way to play M&M6 again, last time was years ago on an older computer that had WinMe installed. Since then I got a new one (new then, not so much now) and I have a peculiar version of XP installed (a Corporate Edition with no service packs and no updates, don't ask why, all I can say is that it did not require activation and let's leave it at that!).

I tried installing the game (I have the CDs) but the install wizard got as far as 99% then gave up. My question is this: If I buy from GoG, will it install under my current OS? Will I have to add service packs/compatibility packs/updates and the rest? If I have to do all that, I think I am better off trying to make a multi-OS PC combining Win 98SE (or Win Me) and Win 7 and use my existing CDs.

I know I am pushing the limit of "legality" here, not everything in my OS is spic and span. I also am at some risk since I said that if it will be much of a "pain" to run your pack I won't buy it but that's me, I ask direct Qs with no beating round the bush.

On second thought, I may just buy the pack and play the rest of the games under DosBox (I have 0.72 or 0.73, not sure which). Anyway, I would appreciate an answer, even though I did not give you much details.

Thanks and keep the good work up!

I just saw your post. I'm not sure you have your M&M6 already or not. But I've got the whole M&M pack (1-9) on GOG's sale several days ago. I can install and run every M&M on my Linux machine without problem (with Wine). So I think if you have WinXP, you should be able to install and run any M&M game. All GOG games come with GOG's installer. So it should install without problem (I can on my Linux using Wine).

If you haven't bought it yet, I saw in some forum discussion that there might be a re-run sale during 28-29 Dec. You can look forward to grab the whole M&M pack during that time. If I remember correctly, the whole M&M pack costs just about $6.96 during the sale. :)
