So, I got the game, started playing, but after almost 10 hours of gameplay, I decided to stop and when I came back nothing was saved…

I tried again, every time I closed the game completely, everything just erases.

Does somebody know what to do in this case? I tried searching for a fix, like setting up to run as admin or even try to locate the save file, but I just couldn't find where does it store it.

I mean, the game saves my progress, so I can even go back to the main menu, but if I close it completely, everything is gone.

Okay, so I think I fixed it.

Maybe this could not be your case, but I realized that because I have OneDrive backup, the path directory of the users folders was different. Like, the desktop file wasn't "C:/Users/YourUserName/Desktop", OneDrive change it to "C:/Users/YourUserName/OneDrive/Desktop", so it's the same for the Documents tab, that I would think is where the save file is located, inside the "WB Games".

So I had to change the user folders path with the Windows Registry and now is working. Now the save profile shows in the Documents folder and I can save the game now.

If you have something similar, like a weird Documents path name or maybe multiple users, this could be the reason as to why it wasn't saving.

Anyway, what folder you installed the game into? Have you tried running it as administrator?

So I see the WB Games folder in my Documents folder but the game still continues to not save to there, the path is still the same for it nothing weird about it

Another solution if you are still having the problem is allowing the app through controlled folder access. The reason controlled folder access could be part of the problem is because the Documents path is where Shadow of Mordor tries to save the game therefore your firewall is blocking Mordor from accessing Documents preventing game saves.

To fix this I opened settings went to virus and threat detection, clicked on manage settings, scrolled down to controlled folder access, clicked on manage controlled folder access, clicked on allow an app through controlled folder access, add an allowed app, chose the shadow of mordor application, then I checked the WB Games file in the Documents path to see if it had finally updated and it did.

Hope this helps with anyone else having a similar problem a little annoying because there is no error codes for the game not saving.
