I actuall didn't play this game before and since I have realised that I cannot access the mp I was wondering, what kind of content I am missing.
So far I think it is mainly watching captains brawl, besieging copies of fortresses from other players and letting copies of my fortress be besieged.
But I also heard about something concerning the nemesis System and Gear that is only available through mp.

Is here someone who could elabourate on that? Especially concerning the gear.

Thanks in advance

I can't help you, but I suggest you to state which game of the series you are talking about.

I believe he is talking about Shadow of War which states on the storefront (under the system requirements) that the multiplayer mode isn't supported, most likely due to Steamworks, as well as a gear set called 'Vengence Set' on the Fandom page. Which that same page says it can't be obtained offline due to requiring the multiplayer services. I, however, can not confirm if Warner Bros. did anything to make it legitimately possible to obtain them for the GOG release as I have not played it yet nor have I seen anything (yet) to say if they did or not. I then assume he goes onto asking about the first game, Shadow of Mordor (clarifying for those who might get confused) which had its online servers shutdown with a fix for an achievement that required the said online service. One of those features was the Nemesis Forge (if I remember the name correctly).

To the OP, while it sucks that the multiplayer aspect is unsupported in this version the reason for that is more than likely simple. Like I said earlier in this post, it most likely is due to Steamworks which is what many multiplayer titles on Steam uses to allow players to easily play said titles with each other. Any other reason is pure speculation on my part.

Sry for the confusion I caused. I thought this section of the forum was only for Shadow of war.
Thanks for the explanaition. If it is just one set, that not as bad, as some ppl made it sound.

You won't be able to move your champions between regions in single-player, which is a pretty big inconvenience.

Since different regions have different level caps and generation focus (champ rarity and immunities/vulnerabilities are affected by fortress affiliation as well), and different regions allow different cap on arena training, it's... annoying, to put it mildly.

Seems like the multiplayer part was a big deal as well, but meh, game's playable without either. Just takes away some of your progression tools.

I own the GOG versions of SoM and SoW and after finishing SoM, I'm trying to decide whether I should buy the steam version of SoW or stick to the GOG version.

I've read that many (or all?) training orders (including the reassignment orders allowing moving orc between regions) used to be obtained through microtransactions.

However all the MTX had been removed a year after the original release and all training orders became available with in-game currency from what I've found.

Is moving orcs between regions harder to do compared to the steam version (or downright impossible)?

Unless I'm missing something (and I did spend time trying to find a solution to it), it's impossible.

As far as I can tell, you need sever connection for reassingment orders, period.

Thank you for the answer.
Seems like ALL the servers shut down recently, just a couple days ago. So ZERO advantage to buying on steam now for the multiplayer nemisis forge thingie...I got this information by clicking the GOG STORE information under the game, took me to the company that owns the game and their statement about it. https://middle-earthgamessupport.wbgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058280033
