Does anyone have the same problem ? I bought the Gold Edition through GOG and installed it with Lutris, and the game works fine, but both DLCs are locked in the "Chapters" menu. The DLC button does not open on any webpage.

I tried to install the game through GoG Galaxy and it installed correctly, but I cannot launch the game from there.

I am using Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS.

Did you finish the main game in the given save slot?

No, I only started the first level to see if the game was working. And in the "Chapter" menu, it is clearly said that I have to pay or download the DLCs to play them.

From what I have seen online, finishing the game is not required to play any of the two DLCs.

Have you checked to make sure the DLCs are installed? The Gold Edition doesn't have the DLC in one installer, but rather gives you the base Metro Exodus game, and the two DLCs as separate installers. Maybe that's the issue?

I tried to find some trace of the DLCs in the folders of the game, but I see nothing related to DLCs. It really looks like I only installed the base game. And I see no option to install them.

Do you have any idea on where to find those installers ?

Ok I just found out that I can install both DLCs through GOG Galaxy, but the DLCs installers won't detect the game and I don't know where the .exe file is located.

Hmm, I'm not sure why they won't detect the game. You can try to verify the base game installation from Galaxy and then try to install the DLC. Otherwise you can download the DLCs standalone from the extras tab in Galaxy. Then run the setup for each DLC and it should detect the base game and install.

The problem is that if I install Metro Exodus through Galaxy, it will simply not launch. And I finally found where the .exe file of the DLC is located, but I don't know how to execute it with Lutris and/or Wine.

If you install via Galaxy and run it through the exe in the game's folder, does it still not run? I can't help with launching the DLC setup on Linux since I've never used Linux.

I did do some cursory reading though, and the Linux community says the game runs well with Proton. Is that an option for you?

I tried to run the game with Galaxy and Wine, but the game just opens on a black screen. Safe mode does not work too.

I believe the game and its DLCs run fine on Steam. The game also works really well through Lutris and Proton. It is just that I cannot run those two DLCs, probably because the Lutris installer does not include them.

And Galaxy is not meant to work on Linux. If I ever found a way to play Metro and its DLCs with the Galaxy launcher, I would have to go through two layers of compatibility, which means that the game would perfom so badly that it would be unplayable.

When you tried Galaxy and Wine, did you launch the game from Galaxy or from the installation folder? There was an issue with Galaxy's Overlay crashing the game even on Windows (but it's fixed now).

The only thing I can think of is if you manage to get the DLC files integrated into your installation, then they might work. So that's why I'm thinking if you could only get the DLC installation to put the files in your main install through Galaxy, you can then get rid of Galaxy and launch the game directly as you currently do with the base version.

I'm sorry it's not working so far, though. Hopefully it works out and I can help.

I tried both, and I got the same result.

I'm currently trying to execute the setup file for The Two Colonels DLC in the Metro Exodus folder made by Lutris. I'll write something here as soon as something new happens.

Thanks for helping !

I hope the setup works! Let me know what happens.
I went to Gamehub instead of Lutris to install the game and its DLCs, and Gamehub let me install easily both DLCs. But the problem remains the same : the installer does not detect my installation of Metro Exodus as a GoG game. So any content that does not come with the base game is completely locked.

I am really out of options now. I do not understand at all why it isn't recognized.

When you say Gamehub lets you install both DLCs, do you mean the installation screen comes up but then the installer cannot find the main game's directory? If so, is there the option to choose the folder or anything like that?

The only other solution I can think of is to install the base game and DLC on a virtual machine or Windows installation, and then copy the game folder into linux and try and launch it natively. Then when it launches, the DLC's should be included (at least I hope so).
so did you guys get that sorted out? I believe a gog user by the name of adamhm has created a wine wrapper that might help :3 you can download each dlc on it's own without galaxy, gog provides offline installers. Proton can be downloaded on it's own too, there is also proton-tgk and proton-ge, no steam required.
