Bought the original games (2033/Last Light) some time back, had trouble running them but eventually the first started working fine while the other would completely freeze and crash in the first sequence outside (would get an error involving the kernel something something, I don't remember, I know it involves the drive for my GPU)
Thought maybe the redux versions would play better, now it's flipped. Last Light Redux seems to play fine (for now...) while I can't even get 2033 Redux to start. When clicking the play button (or running the program from the folder, including as administrator) I'd get a "Previous launch was unsuccessful. Would you like to start in safe mode?". This started happeneing the second I tried to play it after I finished installing so it's not like I played it previously to make that happen (unless the original I got on Steam actually did have something to do with it), and no matter what option I choose, it acts like it's running the game by starting up, I get a black screen, and it kicks me back to the desktop. No logos, no disclaimers, nothing; start, black screen, crash.
I've tried varifying the game, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, messing around with the settings in the folder, and running the benchmark (which goes as far as showing the Metro 2033 logo on the right, THEN crashing), I got nothing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I've played 2033 before and love the game/series. And of course I paid good money for this, I'd be nice if it actually worked...
