EDIT - Solution Found:

I had previously changed GOG Galaxy's "Install game to:" and "Download games to:" folders and checked "Manage all folders manually".

I've since disabled that and reverted to the default directories and the game installed fine. I guess that's why Galaxy is still in beta!

Hello,

Upon downloading Metro Last Light Redux, when it reaches 100% I get the following error message via GOG Galaxy: "Installation failed: disk access problem".

The "Play" button remains greyed-out but I can select More/Manage/Verify-Repair and then select "Verify Game" where it looks like it's trying to download and install again but it get the same error message. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you.

I've gotten the same issue with pretty much every game I've tried installing since "The Witcher 3" (physical media, and had a HELL of a time resolving the physical installation and Galaxy's attempts to "fix" said installation), and would be interested in hearing a solution to this problem. Running Galaxy as Admin hasn't helped, for what it's worth.
I'm having the same problem with Xenonauts. I did not change the default folders or check "Manage all folders manually."
+1
Has the same problem, only workaround right now is to go to the webpage and download it 'outside' of gog-galaxy.
i had the same... seems like installing in a different directory than the /Application does that...

i just made a subdirectory in /application/my_custom_directory

the solution to that was simply to open the folder and manually start the game at least once... the logo of the game application had the apple "this application can't be run" logo you get when you first download an app from the web ... now it works from inside gog ..
EDIT2: it won't work with games downloading a second application ( like an editor.app) ..
EDIT:
1. Download the game using gog galaxy in /application/custom_directory/
once it's done,
2.go in finder, move the game/games (.app) you just downloaded into your /applications/ directory
3. right click : open application
the game could now be played from there (and will now have a nice game specific icon instead of the CAN't be run logo but since we want to link it in gog galaxy lets continue
4. close game
5. in finder : move the game_name.app back in /application/custom_directory
6. go in the library page in the right section
7. click the game , then click the button MORE
8. choose Import from folder
9. Choose the /application/custom_directory/game_name.app

voila the game is now playable from gog galaxy and reports no more error
might not work with the games extras tough (ie editors.app etc) .. since they are downloaded to a different directory
so yes i'm pretty sure Gog can fix this , it's a permission//authorization to run problem

In my case, it was the antivirus that cut off the installation after a 3-5%.
Same problem: Antivirus program was the problem - denied acces to some install files - white listing and now installation is gone

When this happened to me with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, I ended up installing the game through the normal .exe installer, and then Galaxy just automatically recognized the game and added it to my list of installed games.

Avast was causing the issue for me. Temporarily disabling the shields allowed the download to proceed without issue.
Thanks clocutron :)
I was having the same problem with Dragon Age:Origins and disabling Avast solved it for me as well.
Has anyone else had this happen all of a sudden?

Ever since buying and downloading/installing Witcher 3 GOTY I cannot install any other games.

I've tried everything I can think of:
- Added exceptions to GOG Galaxy in antivirus and firewall
- Temporarily turned off antivirus and firewall
- Restarted computer
- Ran GOG Galaxy as admin
- Switched paths to default and back again
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Galaxy
(I have at least 100 GB free on both drives)

I can download backup files through Galaxy and install manually with no problem (but cannot add installations to Galaxy).
Steam and Origin have no problem whatsoever downloading and installing (to same folder).

Help please!!
I'm having the same problem. I can't even install the witcher 3.

I don't have that Anti-Virus, plus I have disabled mine to try and it didnt work.
I've been having this issue for some time on Mac OS (Sierra) with 2-3 different games, and the workaround for this issue turns out to be pretty easy and logical (it's a permission issue which will hopefully be fixed soon).

1.) Open System Preferences
2.) Go to Users & Groups
3.) Check the box "Allow user to administer the computer"
4.) Reboot your system
5.) Run Verify & Repair of your game via Galaxy.

The Installation should complete successfully this time. Don't forget to uncheck the checkbox after setup has completed.
If you have this problem on Windows while using the Avast antivirus (like me), this link might be useful: http://www.getavast.net/tips-tricks/fix-avast-compatibility-issues-with-gog-galaxy

Basically, it says that the Galaxy Client software should be added to Avast exclusion list. Or Avast protection should be disabled while installing games. The first option is obviously safer and more convenient.

I tried adding Galaxy Client to exclusion list, and it seems to work for me (I was able to install Witcher which is 14 GB), but I'm yet to test it extensively.

Simple enough to resolve.
Install Steam
Click add a game (bottom left of screen)
Find your witcher.exe
double click it
Enjoy using a client that actually works.
