The first time i tried to play Metro redux I got through first 2 scenarios and got killed on the train out of Exhibition. When I restarted the game at last check point it put me in my room and I went through it all all again.

However, at the armory I could not pick up the bastard gun from the counter. I have completely restarted the game from the beginning twice. Everything is fine until I get to the armory, then nothing. Can't get on the train. The dude keeps sending me back to the armory.

Any advice would be helpful, the game seems pretty good, what I have been able to play.

I figured it out. You have to hold down the button until it picks up the gun. Not momentarily like picking up anything else.
