Before I pull the trigger on buying this, I was wondering if ultrawide or high-res monitor support is a thing for this game?

These are the PC ports from the early 2000's so resolution will be limited to what was available at that time.
There are community patches and mods available that allow for higher resolutions but don't know if they support ultra wide settings.

I just launched the game and the highest selectable resolution is 1600 X 1200. It looks like a 4:3 in the middle of my 21:9 which I'm totally fine with as the original game was 4:3 so! ;) Hope it helps!

Why? These games were not even built for 16:9 not to say for higher ratios...
