Super happy this game has released here. My friends and I have wanted gog to release it for going on 8 years now.

Anywho, everything seems to be in working order, but I'm missing the Rimtech music. Has anyone else had that problem, or should I just try reinstalling?
This question / problem has been solved by Teljaxximage
so you've got the other music, and it's just the Rimtech tracks? or are other things not playing too?

I've got all the tracks for the other 2 factions, but not the rimtech music.
Indeed, tried Mil-Agro mission 1 and they seem to have the same themes as the Rimtech missions. Hanging around to see what the score (ho ho) is gonna be with this.
The original game came on 2 CDs. CD 1 was where the Rimtech campaign data and music was, while CD 2 had Mil-Agro and Neuropa. The GOG version of the game only has the music tracks from CD 2, so playing as Rimtech plays the Mil-Agro songs instead, since they have the same track numbers as the Rimtech music would have.

If you can find an image of CD 1 and rip the tracks from it, you could make a secondary music folder, and switch between them depending on what faction you are playing at the time. Its not perfect, I know, but at least its something.
Yeah, it seems that this is a hardcoded issue, it persisted for years in different copies of the game in the web. I counted the tracks, and RimTech music truly appears to be missing completely. Even if you add the .ogg tracks in the folder - it would not work, because they used the same names on disks for RimTech and Mil-Agro tracks, or something. The solution, proposed by Teljaxx, is crude, but totally workable.

I do hope that guys at GOG will figure it out somehow, but I doubt it, if it's hardcoded. And though I always liked Mil-Agro and Neuropa music more, but unique music for every faction adds to their appeal and character.
Oh man, that's a bummer. I seem to remember playing skirmishes on a single disk and having all of the music depending on what faction I played, but I don't actually remember. That's for the replies though, all.

Last I heard they (or someone else) were able to get their hands on the source code, so it should be fixable without too much trouble.

That is correct, Night Dive studios acquired rights and assets of Metal Fatigue, so maybe, just maybe they'll find a way to fix this. We'll just have to wait and see.

We can try to approach the studio on twitter or some other contact, to dirrect their attention to this issue. It's not a critical problem, so I am ready to patiently wait for it to be fixed some time in the future.
Since we're on the topic of soundtrack discussions, I'll add to this with another problem I've found while playing. Namely, the game no longer detects where and when Music should be played. And it's not a problem exclusive to RimTech.

As an example, I've heard Neuropa Combat Tracks playing when I'm not currently engaged in combat. I also swear I've heard it slip to play Mil-Agro tunes a few times. Heck there was one game as RimTech where it kept playing the same two Mil-Agro tunes over and over on an incessant loop.

I will second that. Noticed both the brief slips into the music of another CorpoNation (in my case, from Mil-Agro to Neuropa), and the somewhat chaotic combat music behavior. Sometimes it starts to play immediately as the first shot was fired, sometimes it starts playing closer to the end of the battle, and sometimes it doesn't even play at all during the battle. And sometimes it continue playing long after the fight has ended.

It's a minor issue, but and issue nonetheless.

Any chance there's an uploaded copy of the .ogg files somewhere that can be linked? It's been many years since I've had my old Metal Fatigue CD.
I wouldn't call this topic 'solved' yet... GOG could at least add the extra music in a separate folder for the time being so we can choose before launching the game, or even add a batch file or program to toggle between the two. As-is the game is missing an important part (and I really like the Rimtech tracks).
yeah honeslty this game is 98.99% complete just urks me that the proper music doesnt play for the right factions :/
Make sure you contact Support, and you can also tweet Nightdive Studios about the issue.
