I bought Messiah yesterday, but seem to have a few issues with it.
My system is Windows Vista SP1 x64, videocard is an nVidia 8800. Drivers are the latest WHQL ones.
Issue 1: I can't get the resolution to stick. Every time I launch Messiah from the Games Explorer, it asks me to pick a resolution. This appears to only be used for the main menu, I still must pick a resolution in options.
Issue 2: the sidebar 'bleeds' through the window and is flickering annoyingly, even though the game runs fullscreen. It even intercepts mouseclicks, minimizing the screen.
Issue 3: if I somehow lose focus to Messiah (alt-tab, accidentally clicking on the sidebar (issue 2), or getting a focus-stealing systray alert from another app) Messiah is in a 'dark' mode when I alt-tab back: only light sources are drawn, no other textures (models or world). I must shutdown Messiah to get a visible screen again.

You didn't state which version of Vista you're using, so I'll assume at least Home Premium with Aero enabled.
1. I also encounter this issue on Windows XP SP3. My in-game resolution is remembered correctly even though I'm prompted to select it at start.
2. Close the sidebar and relaunch it when you're done playing.
3. Due to the age of the code we're talking about here, I wouldn't expect any games on this site to properly handle switching back to the desktop on Vista. With Aero enabled, your desktop itself is a 3d window! Ancient DirectX code is not going to play nice when switching with modern DirectX 10 code. ;) There's probably not much that can be done about this short of disabling Aero while playing.
Hope this helps.
Good points there. I guess I can live with shutting down the sidebar...
I'm happy I can play Messiah at all. Lost my disk for it a few years back.
I'm using vista home premium edition (64 bit version) with service pack 2 on my laptop. My video display is a intel device. My messiah won't load at all and hangs. Any suggestions would be helpful
