[exposition] So, for a while I had an ATi card, and pretty much had the game set up in D3D mode where it looked halfway decent. I got to the part where you had to possess the Commander and get into the room where you had to dump some people into a grinder to raise a platform, and then got stuck, and let the game sit for a while. Just this past week I swapped out my R6970 for a 760 GTX, and I've completely forgotten what the best settings were, and I can't get past the intro movies in D3D mode without the game crashing. [/exposition]

What's the best combination of game settings and NVIDIA Control Panel settings in which to run the game? Are there any .cfg file tweaks I can make use of? Third-party utilities, things like that?

I'm not sure about an optimal setup but just to get the game to start I had to change some settings in the nGlide config and use the MessiahGlide3x.exe for the game to not crash.

My nGlide settings:
Screen Res: By Desktop
Aspect Ratio: Default
Refresh rate: 60
Vsync: On
Gamma: 1.0
3Dfx logo splash screen: Off

Edit: Oh and I also changed the compatibility of the MessiahGlide3x.exe to Windows XP Service Pack 3.
