This was the first game I ever bought here on GOG.com, and I've been able to make some progress, but I would love to actually be able to play this game without rampant slowdown. If I'm in a smaller room or there isn't an expanse of land around my character is runs fine, but the moment I go into a larger area slowdown starts coming in.

I've looked at the solutions on the many topics on this board (like using "-x"), but I still can't get the game running without hitting some really annoying slowdown, not to mention that the game won't go anywhere near my max resolution (though that doesn't bother me that much, honestly). Hell, I even tried bringing down the texture quality to "low" just to see if less strain can mek it work, but when I do that the game can't even load the level for my save file. For an XP Pro user, is there anything I can do or am I just stuck with the way it is right now?
