I am a Megarace fan. I played it the first time when I was 11 on my first 486 SX 25 machine. I loved it and I still do.

BUT

I recently had the chance of trying the 3DO version using the 4DO emulator:

I've got to tell you: The PC version sucks. Big time.
The speed (fast 'n fluid), the steering (great joystick support), the sound (digital music tracks), the graphics (higher res)... EVERYTHING is better on the 3DO version. It's almost a completely different game.

My advice:

Search for a copy of the 3DO version, install the emulator and try it. You will NEVER look back :)

I watched a gameplay video, and it does indeed look a lot better. My only problem with it is that they replaced the machine guns with laser beams, which look weird in my opinion.

Anyway, the PC version is the original version, so it's not like we're playing a butchered port or anything (that would be the Sega CD version). More like the 3DO version is an enhanced port.
