There is a statement from devs/publisher/whatever in Steam forums in response to someone who wants to play with someone else from Epic:

'As was announced, the non Steam platforms and consoles PS5 and Xbox will have to wait til Q1/Q2 next year. '
I couldn't find the annunciation. But I found the following in the FAQ:

Will there be crossplay?
Not announced yet
Thank you for letting me know, I had not seen that announcement.

That's very dissapointing, I bought the game this week just for this release. I was also hoping to be able to play on LAN instead of having to go through the Steam servers... Guess I'll have to ask for a refund.
Ok, so I guess if GOG is not able to provide, I will have to buy it on steam. And never ever buy any other game on GOG.
Okay, I found some more official announcement .. in the road map ... (see attached file)

Well, this is not GOG's fault. The decision comes from the Medieval Dynasty developers. They probably decided to prioritize this way based on the number of players per platform. That's fair, although they could've timed it better so that the release in Steam and the release in GOG and other platforms wasn't +6 months apart (if not more, taking into consideration that these things are usually delayed).

Thanks again. It looks like it will still take some time.
:D two topics same agenda

I've got my hunch on those crafty publisher "money-eyed" folks. With Medieval Dynasty going coop and turning DRM-free at the same time, they're probably worried it'll dent their profits. It's a slick holiday selling angle from a marketer's viewpoint.

On another note, there's chatter about it being related to Steam's server relay system, which might be smoother than GoG's. Then again, the "Session Code" thing suggests it could be directly managed by the publisher or devs...

Playstation & XBOX, I see where they're coming from. But Steam, Epic, GoG? Not so much.

Ok kid. When you grow up and understand how things works in game development, we will be happy to have you back.
I have requested a re-send of my game, because the lag in updates and the uncertainty of not knowing if I will be able to play with other friends on other platforms, is a big inconvenience for me.

GOG is not to blame for not updating at the same time as on Steam, this is up to the developers. But as consumers, it is clear that in the end this affects us and little by little we stop buying recent games on GOG.

And this has been happening to GOG for some time now with more and more games, which is a shame, although it is not a drama since this platform was created to support older games and CD Proyect's own games, which it does very well.

==========================================

This does not look promising. Even the rendercube site does not mention GOG as a platform.

I would think the onus is on GOG to approach the developer to get an answer, and if they are not updating it, remove the product from GOG.

At the very least have a flashing warning ion the page stating that it will never be updated on GOG....

I wonder if I can get a refund from GOG, so I can buy it on steam?

I think it's not GOG's fault, so they should keep the income they had from this game already. The publisher should, if they really abandon GOG, hand out Steam keys to GOG owners to let them have an upt-to-date game again.

This is actually not true. Quick search got me to their website.
Under supported platforms besides steam: gog, epic, xbox, ps.

Game is not abandoned, but the update delay was only communicated on steam and discord. Which is bad, but a common problem with gog.
I made a detailed post in the other thread, if you're interested.
Finally!
After today's update to 2.1.1.4 version I see COOP feature in game :)
