cailic27: I loved playing this game. Except for just one thing that made me stop playing it. The overlordly quest that limits your progress until you obey it's directives. It irritated me at first. I didn't like it all, and I nearly returned the game. But I figured it would get better since it seemed like a tutorial. But I refused to play any longer when the game insisted that I get married at the age of 18 or I would not get any more settlers. I don't want to get married yet. Especially since the majority of women are older than I am. I guess I'm supposed to marry the first hag that comes along.
You really need to have an option to turn off this quest. I was having such a great time playing your game, but you completely ruined it with this ****** quest.
Hi,
I replied a few days ago but apparently GoG forums ate my post.
Been playing this since it came here, one of very few games I ever bought 'in dev'. Finally I got around to beginning a new game since its latest release and I see some new options are there which may help you out!
Load your game and then hit escape and look in the game customization menu. There is slider to increase the multiplier to your dynasty rep gain.
Unless its been changed, the dynasty rep is what caps your village population, not your quest stage (other than the very first 2 steps right at the start, but if you are up to marriage then you should only be limitred by dynasty rep).
Since you mention your guy is still 18 you are still in the first year - this game is meant to be played over many years to the point your guy dies and then you control the heir who takes over. Thats why each season is only 3 in game days long.
Of course you dont have to play it that way, and extend the length of the season, but it also means game progression will be slower. At least now you can change the season length on the fly (it takes effect next season change).
Personally, this time I chose to max out the building cap, double the xp gained, remove stamina loss and I change the length of the seasons depending on how much time I want to use to set up my fields/buildings etc as I hate being rushed. I know it kills the spirit of the game but I enjoy the building element more than the grinding element, and having played it through twice with standard settings while the game was still in dev, I just wanted to rush in and enjoy the new elements as quickly as possible this time.
Hope this helps to get you back into the game!
