So this got a 1.2MB update here in Galaxy, but afaik it's not in the GOG preservation program. Anyone have any idea what changed?

Nothing was changed since it was first released on GOG - maybe you had an edited/corrupted file? https://www.gogdb.org/product/1207659126#changelog
