I decided to make a Let's Play of this game, since I love it to bits and I couldn't find any other LP of it. But I hit a problem right away.
When I record it the back layer keep blinking in. You can see what I mean in this video:

I have tried everything I can think of. No fiddling with the codec have helped, changing codecs doesn't help, changing settings in graphics doesn't help and running in software mode certainly didn't help (Black screen with a few colors was all I got)
Anyone here managed to record this game before? Or have any idea what I can do to record it?
I use Camtasia by the way. Xfire has no video support, and Fraps crashed when I tried to use it.

Not used camtasia myself but Xfire does have video support. You can activate it in the Tools --> options menu. I have to say it isn't great but maybe you can try that and see if it causes the same problem. Will let you know if its camtasia or something else causing the problem.
There is no Xfire video support for this game. I checked. Something about the Xfire interface making the game crash. So I cannot use Xfire. I normally use it, since it is very robust for something totally free.
Maybe I should download another trial of some feeware program. But I am certain it is the game. I have tried the 3DFX "fix" someone mentioned on the forum, and that didn't work either.
EDIT:
Just tried with a different recorder. The same thing :\

Stupid suggestion but can it run in OpenGL mode? Some games record better in than when using Direct X.
