I have a bit of an issue with getting the 'updated' version of MDK which fixes the slowdown.
I have gone as far as redownloading MDK.
I overwrote the old setup file. When I run the installer, and go to the options. I do not have the MDK - Software setting. I only have MDK as a pre-ticked item and Adobe reader as an optional setting.
According to the file properties it is at version 1.0.1.153. The MD5 hash check fails as well.
I am downloading from the My Account portion of the site.
I downloaded it twice to make sure it had not gone screwy. But no go unfortunately.
