Is MOO2 for Windows or DOS (DOSBOX)?
Post edited April 20, 2010 by Tadip
It's the dosbox version , which kinda sucked... Moo2 did have directx enhancements :(
I was hoping for a native Windows client as well. Too bad :(
I guess it's not possible to play MoO2 on some higher resolution, is it?
Neither fullscreen nor window-mode (640x480) looks that great on a 24" display...
Well we are not officially supporting windows version but you can find files necessary to run it in installation directory. I were able to start it after downloading one library from internet. Still we are supporting only DOS version.
Thanks for the tip!
I managed to start the orion95.exe after creating a copy of the file "dplayx.dll" inside the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (for Win7 x64, it should be C:\Windows\System32\ under 32-Bit) and renaming it to "dplay.dll".
But I have yet to find a way to play it in window-mode.
The DOSBox version makes multitasking on an old single-core Athlon64 quite impossible unfortunately. The CPU gets maxed out by the game.

My graphics come out all pink n garbled :( , would prefer to play it in windows and not the shitty dosbox mode.

Not me. I'm glad it's DosBox. Means us linux losers can play it, too.
Set window and fullscreen resolution in dosbox to =native, set the scaler to =hq3x and you will get a way better picture
and if you get rainbow colors, change the graphic mode (ddraw, opengl and so on...)
What exactly is the difference between windows and dos MoO2? (What directx enhacements for example?)
