My version is still listed at 1.3 after installing the patch and I was just wondering is there anyway to tell I installed it correctly? I remember my MoM listing the new unofficial patch at the bottom correctly.

That's because MoM uses text for the version number (easy to change), while MOO has a whole background image file with the version number.
I never bothered to spend hours on changing the image. Too lazy, sorry.
Tip:
To see if your game's patched, go to the Map section and see if there's a year number on the top instead of text "Galaxy Map".
