I bought MoO3 via GOG to have another go at one of my youth's guilty pleasures.

Installed the tropical mod on people's recommendation. Seems nice so far, but research appears a bit weird.

I'm 75 turns into the game, and so far not a single new technology has been unlocked. The technology screen tells me that everything is 1 turn away from completion, and my tech levels are between 15 and 20...yet I have not, so far, unlocked any building or ship component.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks for any help.
I am having this issue too. Currently playing around with what tech-related mods are applied, but having issues actually finding the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Edited to add: Simulating a game to turn 200 leaves me with tech levels around 30, and no techs researched. All with one turn to go.

Figured it out. The Research spreadsheet is, by default, set to work with the OneTurnTech mod, and without that mod will show that all techs are free the same turn you get to their level (as they need to be for that mod to work), but without the mod being turned on they won't be able to actually finish. If you turn that mod on, you'll get research as described.

Alternatively, if you want to research technology at the default pace, you can go into the Research spreadsheet and under ResearchDefaults change the value of Primary Field Cost to 0.3 and Secondary Field Costs to 0.05. Both solutions have worked for me.
