Hey all I was just wondering why they lied on the Tolerant special race pick. It's supposed to give 2 main bonus's

1. No Pollution, thus it negates having to clean it up also.
2. Treat all enviroment as Terran for MAX Population. This does NOT work.

Now it does treat all environments better than they would be but not as good as Terran otherwise Terraforming would have no benefit other than allowing farming.

Example. Normally your home planet is a Medium Terran with a max population of 15. A Med Barren planet has a max 4 pop normally and 8 if Tollerant but really if the description was true it would allow 15 as well.

When Tolerant Radiated, Barren and Toxic enviroments all have same max pop as follows.

Small - 5
Medium - 8
Large - 12

Anyone know why they so blatantly lie in pick description?

PS anyone know if it's at all possible to "Fix" Toxic Enviroments?

Tolerant description is just one of many wrong descriptions in a game. One from tenths of them. They could appear from late ingame balance changes. or simply overlooks. Tolerant do give a capacity bonus for a planet, just work other way as described. If it worked as described - it would be absurdly powerful, obviously. To fix ioxic- you can use a stellar converter and planet construction. Or mapgen.exe program.

Late edit. Actually 15 size of terrain from example above is result of tolerant bonus, as 15 is a maxpop of medium gaia planet, not terrain. Anyway this link have a quite detailed explanation of planet size modifiers http://masteroforion2.blogspot.com/2005/10/maximum-population.html

Yeah, that's what I've always done: obliterate the toxic planet with a stellar converter, then reconstruct it. Works on those annoying tiny, low-g planets as well.
A little help ;)

Edit: the "Race" numbers are % of the gaia population.
For e.g. : tolerant races have 65% population of gaia on swamp
