How do you run these games? I didn't know they used DOSbox, or I probably wouldn't have bought them, but I did, installed, ran the first, *bing* error, backed out, ran the second, *bing* error, backed out, oh god there's a DOSbox folder... fkfkfkfk, I hate DOSbox... no buttons to click.

Instructions please? I mean seriously, I buy old games through GOG cuz I presumed it'd be easier than torrenting and fixing, I'm paying for the fixes, Planescape Torment which I've spent a good 5 hours trying to get running properly (nvidia graphics card) and this, which looks like pretty much what I'd get if I torrented the games, are starting to make me re-think, I mean a head's up would have been nice, BUY THIS SHIT!!! (if you have an Nvidia graphics card or DOSbox scares you be pre-warned they might make you cry a little), but no, just a big tick for Windows 7 64x and then a big screw you when it all goes to hell... anyway, rant over, feel free to flame me into next tuesday, but also instructions please.

I don't think it's the graphics card to blame here, I purchased MOO 1+2 earlier today and installed then using the .exe and both ran no worries using my 9600GT, I am however running Windows Vista (32bit) it does state that since leaving beta all games are meant to be fully compatible with Windows 7. Is the installer you are using been obtained after the site left beta? If not maybe a re-download/install can help?
I bought the games on sale today so yea, I got the installer after the site left BETA, I'll try a full re-install and see what happens.

Edit: Ok, all better now, no idea what went wrong the first time around, I take back half of what I said about GOG.

Were you running the games from the desktop shortcut or start menu shortcuts the first time? Because if you were running them from the games folder directly you sometimes bypass whatever gog does to get these games running.
Yea I was...

How else would you propose they get DOS games running on modern hardware? Even if you torrented MOO1, you'd have to use DOSBox (or have access to a really old computer still running Win98 at the latest). MOO2 did have a Win95 client, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find many who still actively play MOO2 and prefer the Windows client to the DOS one.
Also, re-writing old code for modern computers would be scarcely less difficult than writing a new game altogether, as far as coding goes.

In which case, you'd be paying probably $30+ for each game and they'd come out, probably, one every six months at most.
Do you have any specific crash dump info?
I know it isn't a NVidia card compatibility issue, as I have run MOO2 via GOG on a 8800 Ultra, a 9600GT, my friends house, his 1.7gb GTX 260, and a few minutes ago, I was playing it on my GTX480. No problems there, so NVidia is not the problem.

Can you provide us with a hardware spec on your system, also, in some cases, like my GOG copy of Rise of the Triad, I had to update my DOSBOX version within the game, simple copy and paste and 90% of the issues resolved right then and there.

Once you unwind, please give us any specifics you can about the crash, any errors that popped up, any text, even if it looks gibberish,as well as your system build, that will give the community more to go on.
