Greetings Explorers,

Today we've released a small hotfix patch for Master of Orion while the development team continues work on the next major update.

Version 44.4.1 Patch Notes
- Fixed issues with Automated Repair Unit that prevented it from working
- Fixed issues with Meklar audio
- Fixed output_log logging messages incorrectly
I just wrote a 5000+ words feedback paper with some graphics on Master of Orion. I did send it via WG Labs contact form. Dunno if that was right, is there any proper adress to send the pdf to?

Hotfix patch? It seems we have to download the whole 3.7 GB (+ 42 MB installer) again. Why can't you really provide a patch with a few MB that addresses and fixes the three issues only without the need to install the whole game anew?

Or am I missing something?

GOG Galaxy helps with small patches, otherwise it is maybe wiser to wait for bigger patch.
Thanks for the hint. However it's sad that they do not put the small patches up here but force you to use GOG Galaxy or let it be.
Well, gog and it's early access program is kind of problematic anyway. Especially this game had me raise some eyebrows. Now, I love the new Master of Orion, I like gog, but the policies in place are mismatched. For example, there was a very minor cosmetic content (pixelships) locked behind linking account for testing purposes. That's DRM however, which should not be here. Also the multiplayer requiring seperate galaxy accounts is another DRM thingy as I would not be able to let's say have a friend come over and play against me on my old rig.
Now the devs can hardly be held accountable for it, after all, the game is not finished and technically, on everything that's not perfect they are still working on. What effectively should have happened is that gog's early access needed to be closely curated by gog and discrepancies with the policies made clear to the cusomer. If I would have not wanted that service, I would have bought the game on steam. Minor patches going up only on galaxy is now another gog service going astray.
Either gog needs to put the middle man back in or they should clearly state that their policies don't cover early access.

What do you meen by pixelships being locked and linked to an account? Ive always been able to turn them on or off.

Then you didn't buy it on release. As I said, they did that to test something. Then patched it out. All good now. Originally you could only enable pixelships if you link your gog account to wargaming.
