Hi,

When going to the save game screen, I am given the option of saving with the preset name or renaming the save file. I sometimes forget the exact wording of my named files and wind up creating multiple saves with slightly different wording.

Could you implement the display of a list of existing save files so I can click on and choose to overwrite those files, rather than creating many new files please?

This is a great suggestion. Adding it to the requested features list. :)
At the beginning I missed that feature, too. A bit later I realized that the cumulated overall progress of the game is saved. Within the timeline graph of the "path to victory" screen you can go back in time and start over with the progress achieved till then.

At first this seems like a nice feature. Giving it a second thought I find it to be somewhat awkward instead. For example my latest MoO testgame takes 328 MB for 384 turns. This is 0.85 MB per turn. However I assume the first turn will need far less and the last turn somewhat more disk space (more colonies, more fleets, etc.).

If there was an auto save for the last two or three turns and the ability to easily name, rename and override your own save games then I just would need only a few MB at max for a save game (assuming the progress of each turn is not saved any longer).
Like it is now every time I save, the cumulated turns save as well which is more than unnecessary.

At the moment I gave up to save things because for example two save games and the default would just fill/waste almost 1 GB of disk space.

Edit: Okay, fine, I've noticed there is an option to disable the timeline or set it's frequency to 5 or 10 turns, when starting a new game.
