Hmmm so a cinematic view that follows a single ship cluster? Or Just ships on one side?

Either would be good. Sometimes I like to see how my offensive strikes are doing, other times defensive. One missile cam view is enough I think per cinematic. maybe the final blow. maybe a few hotkeys could change the perspective.


Also unless I'm missing something it's seems very hard to see how ships are doing in terms of damage to shilds and structure from the top down view. I can area select mine but It doesn't seem to work on enemy ships. now it may be somewhat moot if the retreat timer has expired but it's annoying and I've been auto resolving typically since i get more information that way.

- I still miss some reasonable control over my ships beside moving forward or backward.
- Cinematic view is nice but could be improved by selectable camera positions.
- Don't know if its only on my system but whenever i enter tactical combat versus a monster or the guardian
the game freezes in loading screen.
When will tactical battles be available in multiplayer? Just tried the game with a friend for the first time co-operatively and the experience felt really empty with everything being forced to auto-resolve.

This is one of the major issues, but there are others. Tactical in multiplayer is not as simple as just enabling it. We are not writing it off as "not happening" but we also can't really commit to a timeline or that it is happening. It's a really big project to get it working well.

OK, thanks for the response! I'll probably be holding off on playing the game again with my LAN group until tactical combat is in, as it's a really important feature of any 4x game for me and has been a cornerstone for my enjoyment of other 4x games like Sword of the Stars. I'll be looking forward (and hoping) to seeing this functionality in multiplayer in the future!
