Mom 1.0 would be an exact remake of MoM, with the following exceptions:
-All bug fixes (ALL of them)

-Mobile device friendly

-Settler to start (to prevent constant reloads)

- Programmable build queue for Grand Vizier (divert 75% pop to production, 25% farming, build smithy, granary, farmers market, marketplace, shrine, ect)

-Unit and Building queues with a slider to divert production either way (100/0, 50/50, 0/100, and all in between)

- Create your own race (like Moo2, with a bonus or penalty to the score at the end of the game)
I'm not a mobile gamer, really, but the rest sounds pretty good.

I do have a list of minor tweaks I'd make.

-Move the "AUTO" combat button away from the others to prevent accidental presses.
-Move the "SAVE" and "LOAD" buttons as far apart as possible and make them look different instead of nearly identical.
-Make city gates impassible to attackers so it would be impossible to take a walled city without some way to breach.

Ala Age of Wonders here haha. I remember that this feature did stump me for a couple min when I started playing AoW. Only really played the first one and a bit of demo from SM I think.

Also I would absolutely LOVE a smartphone version of Master of Magic. I just recently got an Android phone and would love to play MoM on it. I agree with the fact that you would need to make sure combat buttons are further apart to avoid accidental presses.

Settler for start is a GREAT idea as well because the computer is really boneheaded sometimes with your starting placement. I remember lots of times where 1 square away would have given me at least 2 or 3 more bonus's and a bigger potential capitol population size. I know the settler start is ala Civ2 but hey it works.

If anyone knows of TBS games like MoM that are already available on Android plz let me know.
What always bugged me with capital starts is getting a high tech race that was 1 square away from the coastline. Seriously? You don't think I'd have wanted to build a Merchants Guild at some point in this game in my capital city? Bonus points if the high tech race is High Men or Orcs and you have Sorcery books.

While in most ways I consider Warlock Master of the Arcane to be a much inferior game to Master of Magic, I really love the landscaping options. Being able to create or erase landmasses is just amazingly useful.

rob132: Who would buy MoM 1.0?
Hey rob is this actually in the works or are you just wishing out loud? Just wondered if I can actually look forward to it or if it's just a "well it would be really great if it happened" type thing.

Sorry, not in the works at all. Just wishful thinking on my part :(

I think create your own wizard is enough; it's mostly more equivalent to what the race stats meant in MoO2 anyway. MoM races could get troublesome to customize because of things like the interracial morale penalties (where specific races hate each other more than others.) MoO1 had something similar to that too, actually, which was cut down to just Charismatic/Repulsive picks for the MoO2 system.

Well, that's easy, just overhaul the racial system, have likeable (+1 / 5 picks) neutral (0 / 1 pick), disliked (-1, -2 picks), hated (-2,-5 picks)
Most of the default races don't work that way, though. Halflings are the "like everyone" race and Klackons are the "hate everyone" race but the others have more specific likes/dislikes (High Elves and Dark Elves hate each other, for instance, but that doesn't mean the other races feel the same way towards them.)

Yea Racism at it's worst.

I don't care if your Light or Dark, Good or Evil. To me all you stinking Elves are all the same.
- Dwarven attitude toward High & Dark Elves. If your Dwarf capitol +3 Unrest for both.

Also agree with you on no custom race as it would be really a lot more complicated since you already custom your Wizard. Also unlike in MoO2 every player could potentially have the same race. In MoO2 each racial picture could only be used ounce, kind of like in MoM each Wizard pic can only be used ounce.
