Hi there,

I'm running Master Of Magic on my desktop pc and on my laptop. The desktop pc runs the game just fine but on my laptop it just won't run on even speed. It's barely playable, sometimes hangs for a short while, even the music is running on uneven tempo.
Both machines run win10 64 bit. My laptop is a fairly new asus zephyrus with a gtx1080 max q. I've tried messing around with different sound configurations and with the dosbox cpu speed. I've also tried playing with gsync, vsync, or vsync off. I also tried different setup options for scaling.

I hope I haven't overlooked another thread here. Has anyone any ideas? I thought it might be related to some powermanagement features, but the laptop is running plugged in and everything is running without energy saving as far as I can tell.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi again,
Just to wrap it up here, too: I’ve solved the problem and it was rather simple in the end - like always in hindsight ;)
Using a gtx1080 in the notebook I was using the whisper mode you can turn on in the GeForce experience setting, which optimized all games to keep the notebook quiet. That limits the games to certain framerates which was 30fps for dosbox. By turning this off the game started to run normally again.

So I was able to start my army with golems and warlocks just to get beaten up by a great wyrm...

I'm glad you figured out a solution to your problem. :)

I suggest taking a full stack of Hammerhands, preferably with Adamantium weapons, instead of golems. Hammerhands swing significantly harder than a golem can.

Warlocks are probably a bad investment against a Great Wyrm, unless you can make the warlocks fly. The Wyrm is probably in a node, which may block the warlock Doom Bolt spells.
