I have a rather odd problem that I'm encountering. When I try to play Master of Magic, my sound keeps acting up and is laggy. I first tried changing the CPU cycles in the dosbox configuration, but that didn't help. I could make it worse, by going very high (250000) or very low (10000), but I couldn't get it to stabilize. I've set it at 25000 and that seems to be the best that I can get.

When playing the game, what I've noticed is that it works fine UNTIL I start moving my mouse around. I've been messing with mouse speed as well as enabling / disabling some of the options but none have affected the sound at all.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to resolve this issue or what settings I should try tinkering with?

Well, it looks like I figured out my own problem. I figured I'd post it up here in case others are experiencing the same issue.

It turns out that it is a dosboxMOM.conf configuration issue but it wasn't where I thought it'd be.

In the configuration file

[sdl]

....
output=opengl

This was set to "overlay" originally. When I changed it to opengl, it solved my sound issue!
