I keep pressing auto by mistake and can rarely turn it back off before losing. Is there any surefire way to deactivate it?

(or better yet, to get rid of that button entirely, what's the point of a button that makes you lose the fight? Especially since we already have the "Flee" button, and at least with the flee button there's a chance you'll have some units left afterward)

Just click once, anywhere (except the auto button), then wait. You don't get control back until that "round" is completed. I wish the button required a confirmation, but I do like having it to speed up some sure-thing battles.

Use the keyboard. "A" turns auto on & another "A" turns it off.
