Okay, yeah, it's a cheating question by definition, it's about hex editing a save file.

If version matter -- and I imagine it does --, I'm messing with the vanilla dos version, the same I had quarter of century ago, whatever the numbers.

So, all I want to do is, I guess, one bit edit.

For the example sake, let's say:
-- in game (A) Warrax has Blademaster and Agility and 10 mp
-- in game (B) Warrax have neither, but is starting with 15 mp

I guess you know why someone might prefer the (A), a guy who could eventually one-shot Sky Drakes doesn't need that much extra mana, lol. Not that it matters much either way. Just messing around and anyway, it's rather just example.

I know this stuff is in the save file somewhere, I know I have done that over twenty years ago, but my notes are apparently lost irrecoverably. I know I'm looking for 35 entries, and I think I remember that the bonuses for each level were listed, or some such.

I'm just too lazy to crash the game 100+ times with random edits now, lol.

Maybe someone may give me some pointers? I don't even need exact addresses, if things are changed, I doubt the order of things are. So, between Fortress position and items list? My pattern recognition says it's 51 entry of something... Right before? Or in front of city list? That's more like just pile of random junk it seems...

There#s a number of old fan-sites and articles around hexediting Master of Magic.

here is one of the better
http://pcgamescreens.blogspot.com/2017/12/master-of-magic-hex-editor-codes-and.html

it doesn't inculde infos about the hero#s and i have never seen any info about it while playing Master of Magic.
Thanks!

Funny, it's the very first table in the file. (How could I forget that? Now I had ranked it as only third for places to look at...)
It's 12 bytes x 35 heroes x 5 wizards. That's all I need to know.

In what you linked there's a link to SaveGam2.html (dropbox) and that had what I'm looking for in full detail.
