For some reason, when starting a new game, whenever I try to choose the blue banner, the game hangs and refuses to continue. I don't seem to have an issue with any other color banner. Does anyone else have this problem... or better yet, a solution?

I'm running the game under Windows 7, with the latest Insecticide installed. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I do not have that problem and I play blue fairly often. Try cycling your router (/joke)

A few questions may help us out here.

1. Have you ever been able to use Blue Banner on this computer before?
2. If Yes to above then are you able to LOAD a game with a blue banner?

3. Try installing MoM in a different place and see if non Insect version has any problems
- If it works ok for Blue Banner then save and install the Insect patch to that one and try.

Really 3 is probably the best way to find out if it's your comp the Insect Patch or perhaps just that install has gotten corrupted that is causing the problem.

No, I've never been able to play a blue-banner game on this PC. After I finish my current game, I'll do a wipe and reinstall and see whether that's the problem. Thanks.

And... I've solved my own problem. The glitch is caused by a known issue with Insecticide: because it's checking for so many additional factors during world creation, the game can hang and appear to be frozen for the better part of a minute, or sometimes even longer. The fact that it seemed to happen most often whenever I chose the blue banner appears to have been nothing more than coincidence.

Yeah it's to bad you cannot mark your own posts as answers. Had that happen with certain other bugs like the Missing Hero spells bugs and HP Regeneration bug.
